
Odysseas Zoras is a professor in
Surgical Oncology of the Medical School of the University of Crete
and the head of the Department of Surgical Oncology in the
University Hospital of Heraklion. Also, he is the director of the
postgraduate MSc Program “Oncology: From Oncogenesis to Therapy” of
the University of Crete. Furthermore, Odysseas Zoras is past
president and now he is a member Board of Directors of the Hellenic
Surgical Society as well as a member Board of Directors (2014-2018)
of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). He also was an
examiner of the European Board of Surgical Oncology (2012, 2013,
2014). In the past, he was a Vice Dean (2003-2007), a dean
(2007-2011) of the Medical School of the University of Crete Greece
as well as a former rector of the University of Crete.
Odysseas Zoras was a
post-graduate fellowship in Milan Cancer Institute, Glasgow
University Royal Infirmary, Beatson Institute Glasgow University
and University of Rochester, Medical Center, New York (Visiting
Professor). Since 1996, he is an active member of the Society of
Surgical Oncology (SSO), while since 2002 a full member of the
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as well as a fellow of
the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Furthermore, he has over
130 publications, in cited scientific journals and he was an
invited speaker in more than 400 national and international
congresses. Now he is an Associate Editor of the EJSO (European
Journal of Surgical Oncology).
